Lewis Hamilton once again defended the cars of the new Formula 1 regulations after the Chinese GP, where he finished in third place. The competitor pointed out how they are easier to follow and that it is the best type of racing he has ever experienced in the category.

Max Verstappen has been the name totally opposed to the implementations made starting this year. The Red Bull driver has already called them Formula E cars on steroids and even said he swapped his simulator for a Nintendo Switch , but the Ferrari seven-time champion does not agree with his Dutch opponent.
“The cars are easier to follow, much better than in previous years. You can get very close. There isn’t that bad turbulence that makes you lose a lot of downforce. I think it’s the best racing I’ve ever seen in Formula 1,” he commented.
“Of course these guys [Mercedes] are overtaking us at incredible speeds, but being able to stay so close… It’s great that we have a good start at the moment and I hope it stays that way throughout the year. Since they opted for a different setup, with more power, we need to figure out how we can improve our straight-line speed,” he added.

Furthermore, after the race in Shanghai, the seven-time Formula 1 champion hoped that the fans had fun watching, recalling his battles from his karting days. “I hope it was an exciting race for you, because it was incredible inside the car,” he said.
“It felt like karting, back and forth, back and forth, and you could position the car in a very good way, sometimes there was a thin layer of paint between us, but we didn’t actually touch. I think that’s due to the greatness of the drivers and mutual respect,” he concluded.
