Formula 2 sets the starting grid for the fourth round of the 2026 season this Friday (5) on the street circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco. And the round will have a different qualifying format compared to the rest of the year, with drivers being divided into two groups to define the grids for the two races of the weekend.

A draw determined that drivers with odd-numbered cars will go out on track first. Brazilian Rafael Câmara, from Invicta Racing, will be in this group. The second group will have all competitors with even-numbered cars, and it will be at this moment that Emmo Fittipaldi, with AIX Racing, will go out on track. Each group will have 16 minutes of activity.
After the session of both groups concludes, the driver with the best time secures pole position for Sunday’s race. The fastest driver from the other group completes the front row with second position. From then on, the drivers who were in the pole’s group start from odd positions, with the rest starting from even positions.
For the grid inversion for the Sprint race, the fifth fastest driver from the group that lost pole position for the main race will start from first position. The fifth from the other group closes the front row starting from second position, with the fastest competitor overall in Friday’s qualifying starting from tenth position.
