Max Verstappen made a harsh assessment of Red Bull’s performance after Saturday’s (25) qualifying session at the Formula 1 Hungarian GP. After spinning during Q3 and securing only sixth position on the grid, the four-time champion stated that the RB22 worsened throughout the weekend and described the car as “difficult to drive”.

The Dutchman caused a yellow flag in the final part of the session by spinning at turn 2, compromising his last attempt at a fast lap. In addition to the incident, the four-time champion finished behind Kimi Antonelli, both Ferrari drivers, and the McLaren duo, with Lando Norris taking pole position.
Commenting on Red Bull’s performance, Verstappen stated that the problem is not tire wear, but the car’s own behavior. “The weekend, overall, has been difficult. But when, instead of the tires degrading, it’s the car that degrades, then you have a big problem. That’s what’s happening,” he said.

“The car simply got worse and worse, lap after lap. The more laps I did, the harder it was to complete a good lap. For tomorrow we also need to solve this, because the car is not drivable like this,” he concluded.
