Max Verstappen spoke about how virtual motorsport made him a better Formula 1 driver and what he hopes to achieve by investing in the discipline.

The four-time world champion is a great enthusiast of the virtual world, regularly participating in events. In fact, this year, Team Redline also took on a new identity as Verstappen Sim Racing.
“Definitely, it also kept me sharp off the track, allowing me to prepare in ways perhaps different, which hadn’t really been explored before,” he began.
“But at the same time, it was also a hobby in which I wanted to grow, let’s say, in the virtual motorsport community, to show that there are possibilities for virtual drivers to enter the real world. That was, in part, the project behind everything, besides becoming one of the strongest teams in the community,” he added.

“For me, I think driving and adapting to different types of cars outside Formula 1 always helps. So, when you drive these cars in real life for the first time, I believe it greatly helps the way you process everything, from leaving the pits to the first laps.”
“That’s why I also like to participate in other races besides Formula 1, like these endurance races. Yes, I really enjoy them,” he concluded.
