During the programming of the Dutch GP this Thursday (20), Max Verstappen joked about the length of his relationship with Red Bull when asked about the contract renewal until 2030. If he fulfills the new contract, the Dutchman will reach his 15th season with the team.

Verstappen heard that 15 years would be “longer than many marriages last nowadays.” When asked about the secret to maintaining the partnership, he made a reference to a possible marriage with Kelly Piquet: “I am training for my own wedding, just to see how long I can extend this in terms of races and then try to triple it, at least, in the marriage.”
The four-time world champion also recalled that when Dietrich Mateschitz was still alive, he had already expressed the desire to stay at Red Bull for the rest of his career. “Come on, right? Yes, I mean, I always said, back when Dietrich was still alive, I told him: ‘My goal and aim would be, of course, to race for Red Bull forever.’ So we are on the right track.”

Verstappen and Piquet are not married, but have a daughter, Lily, born in April 2025. Piquet is also the mother of Penelope, who was born in 2019 during her relationship with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.
The new contract with Red Bull was signed before this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix and keeps Verstappen with the team until 2030.
