Max Verstappen was voted by fans as the Driver of the Day at the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1. The four-time world champion received 23.5% of the votes after finishing the race in second position with Red Bull.

Verstappen’s race had a busy start. After cutting the first chicane at the start, he was instructed to give back positions to Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton, but he managed to recover throughout the race and get the most out of the car.

In the final laps, the Dutchman still had to defend second position from attacks by Lando Norris. Verstappen crossed the finish line less than a second ahead of the McLaren driver, a result that helped place him at the top of the voting held by the official Formula 1 website.

Charles Leclerc was second in fan preference, with 18.3% of the votes. Norris appeared right after, with 16.2%, while winner Kimi Antonelli received 9.7%.
Franco Colapinto completed the top five most voted. The Alpine driver finished the voting with 7.3% of the public’s preference.
