The atmosphere became tense in Formula 1 after qualifying for the Canadian GP. Max Verstappen showed irritation with Red Bull and stated that the team does not understand the problems faced by the RB22 during Saturday.

The Dutchman finished only in sixth place on the starting grid in Montreal after struggling throughout the qualifying session. According to the four-time world champion, the car showed inconsistent behavior, especially on the straight, where he lost performance with each completed lap.
In an interview with the Viaplay broadcaster, the driver said the situation was “very strange” and revealed frustration with the lack of answers from the team over the radio. “I really have no idea what happened during the entire qualifying. With every lap I did, the more I drove, the slower I got on the straights. I gained time in the corners, but lost more than that on the straights,” he said.

Verstappen also suggested that Red Bull itself did not understand the problem. “I asked several times what was going on and got no answer. I had no feedback, so I just kept doing my laps. We improved a bit on the curbs and bumps, but then I lost downforce with that setup. In the end, it didn’t make much difference. You end up going in circles. They probably don’t know either,” he highlighted.
The driver also indicated disagreements about the direction taken in the car adjustments. While Isack Hadjar was right behind, in seventh, Verstappen said that his side of the garage insisted on a solution that, according to him, “never works.” When asked about the team’s post-qualifying meeting, the Dutchman responded directly: “It is what it is.”
