Yuki Tsunoda recalled how he felt after the first race with Red Bull in Formula 1. The Japanese driver acknowledged that psychologically, he did not feel well and that he needed to seek help.

After two rounds held in 2025, the Austrian team opted to promote the driver in place of Liam Lawson. The first race was the Japanese GP, his home race, but as the championship progressed, things became quite emotionally complicated.

“After Japan, it was definitely the most difficult season of my career and my life. But, at the same time, I learned a lot about myself, I went through many things… I think I grew a lot as a person, in terms of personality. Obviously, you always get exhausted after a race, and in the weeks when there is no race, normally you want to enjoy and recharge your energy,” he evaluated to the F1 website.

“When I tried to do that last season, I felt emotionally very bad and didn’t know where it was coming from. I thought: ‘Ok, this is something I need to change.’ I needed external help to be happier and to know myself better. It was realizing that, in fact, I didn’t know much about myself, because if I think about what will make me happy outside of racing and what will give me positive energy constantly… I started thinking about myself and, definitely, without that season, I wouldn’t have found this solution.”
