The change was caused by a wrist injury suffered by Hadjar during the summer break. Unable to compete in the event, the Red Bull driver will be replaced by Lawson, opening the way for Tsunoda to return to Racing Bulls alongside Arvid Lindblad.

“As a result of the driver change, reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda will race for Racing Bulls in Zandvoort this weekend, alongside Arvid Lindblad,” the team confirmed in a statement.

Tsunoda had been acting as a reserve driver and now will have a new opportunity to compete in a full Formula 1 weekend. Racing Bulls highlighted the quick adaptation required due to the unexpected change in the line-up of the two teams.

Thus, the lineup for Zandvoort will have Lawson at Red Bull and Tsunoda back at Racing Bulls. Lindblad will continue normally in the other seat of the Faenza team.

“We thank Liam and Yuki for their adaptability as the teams prepare for the weekend and wish Isack a speedy recovery,” said Racing Bulls.

The change puts Tsunoda back on the grid precisely at the return of Formula 1 after the summer break, in a weekend that will start with a lineup different from what was originally planned for Red Bull and Racing Bulls.
