Ferrari dominated Friday at the Formula 1 Hungarian GP, leading both free practice sessions at the Hungaroring. Charles Leclerc was fastest in FP1, while Lewis Hamilton commanded a one-two for the Italian team in FP2.

Hamilton clocked 1min18s729 in the second session, beating Leclerc by 0s148. Lando Norris finished third, almost half a second behind, followed by Max Verstappen and George Russell, a scenario that placed Ferrari as the main reference before FP3 and qualifying this Saturday.
Gabriel Bortoleto also had a positive start in Budapest. The Brazilian placed Audi in sixth position in FP1 and finished FP2 in 11th, highlighting that the team managed to collect useful information to seek improvement for the rest of the weekend.

Red Bull, on the other hand, ended the day with balance problems. Verstappen complained about a lack of rear grip and stated over the radio that the rear axle had locked up again, while Isack Hadjar acknowledged the advantage presented by Ferrari.
Aston Martin also drew attention by debuting a widely revised version of the AMR26, after using a curfew exception to complete assembly. Lance Stroll missed FP2 due to a suspension problem, but initial data indicated car evolution, which received changes to the chassis, aerodynamics, and weight reduction.
