Jannik Sinner did not let the victory of his compatriot Kimi Antonelli in Formula 1 go unnoticed. The tennis player, during the Indian Wells tournament awards ceremony, congratulated the Mercedes driver on his triumph at the Chinese GP last Sunday (15).

In Shanghai, the 19-year-old driver became the second youngest in history to achieve a victory, in addition to being the first Italian competitor to win in almost 20 years in Formula 1. Therefore, the feat could not have been overlooked by the tennis player who won the championship in the United States.
“It has nothing to do with tennis, but it was a special day for Italy because I am a big fan of Formula 1 and seeing a Kimi, a very, very young Italian, bringing Italy back to the top,” said the 24-year-old tennis player after winning the Indian Wells Open.
“It’s incredible, so thank you. Thank you, Kimi. Thank you, Formula 1, and see you next year,” he added.
