The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian races, which are scheduled for consecutive weekends between April 1st and 19th, are under uncertainty due to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Despite not being directly involved, Iranian attacks on facilities in both countries have raised doubts about the races taking place this Formula 1 season.

The uncertainty is starting to worry team principals, who are calling for a quick decision from F1 and the FIA (International Automobile Federation). Ayao Komatsu, Haas team principal, stated that early notice would help the teams: “Honestly, the sooner the better. You know, I’m sure that, obviously, everyone is dealing with things that I’m not aware of.”
“So, yeah, I don’t know. But obviously, as a team, the sooner we know, the better. We will definitely know this week. I’m sure of it. It’s a big issue. Honestly, the sooner we know, the better,” Komatsu concluded when speaking to the GPBlog website.

Mike Krack, track chief engineer at Aston Martin, also described the situation as difficult but stated he is confident in the decisions that will be made: “I think it’s a difficult situation, but it’s a difficult situation for everyone. I think F1 and the FIA do their best to make the right decision and we need to respect that. And I think we can always find many arguments for, you know, an early cancellation or continuation. So, for us, it’s a situation where, you know, we have to plan for two scenarios, or maybe even more, if there is a replacement or any other scenarios that might arise,” Krack explained.
The expectation is that a decision regarding the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will be announced later this week.
