The round takes place right after the Belgian GP, won by Kimi Antonelli. The Mercedes driver beat Charles Leclerc in the battle for victory at Spa-Francorchamps, while Max Verstappen completed the podium and Gabriel Bortoleto finished eighth, adding more points for Audi.

The setting will be completely different from that found in Belgium. With 4.381 km in length and 14 turns, the Hungaroring has a narrow and winding layout, which demands high aerodynamic load and precision from the drivers. Since overtaking is difficult, Saturday’s qualifying usually has decisive importance for the race result.

The high temperatures of the European summer can also increase the physical wear on the drivers, make cooling the cars more difficult, and influence tire management. The race will have 70 laps.
