George Russell got off to a great start at the Dutch Grand Prix of Formula 1. This Saturday (22), in the Sprint race, the Briton started from pole position, dominated from start to finish, and secured the victory.

The Mercedes driver is looking to regain ground in the 2026 season. And right at the return of the championship, he managed to score important points for the standings with the win, while his teammate and leader Kimi Antonelli crossed the finish line in fourth.
Therefore, after the Sprint, Russell celebrated the result but admitted that it could have been a different outcome if the duration had been longer – the rain arrived on the penultimate lap. “A good start to the weekend. If there had been one more lap, the end of the race would have been very different,” he said.

“I knew that if there was any overtaking, it would happen near the end; so, I knew I had to manage [the tires] to ensure I still had rubber at the end. I knew Charles would be fast, but I managed to keep the distance,” he concluded.
