George Russell was unable to repeat the Sprint pole position for the Formula 1 Dutch GP qualifying. But on this Saturday (22), he still managed to make a positive assessment of the result.

The Mercedes competitor will start from the front row, in second place, with the pole having gone to Lando Norris. Meanwhile, Kimi Antonelli, championship leader, lines up third on Sunday, 23.
So, despite losing the honor position on the grid in Zandvoort, Russell praised starting second, especially after the tough races he faced before the Formula 1 summer break.

“Lando did a great job, so congratulations to him and McLaren. It was a strong session. I think we had the conditions to fight for pole, but I am quite satisfied with second place, especially for being able to regain the pace after some tough races before the break; it’s good to find my rhythm again and try to compete with them tomorrow,” he said.
“I feel good and like myself again, which is very important. It was very good to drive here, and the lower temperatures made the track feel very fast. So, it was a real pleasure for all of us to drive here, and I’m looking forward to the race,” he continued.
