Laurent Mekies gave an update on Isack Hadjar’s wrist injury, which kept the Frenchman out of this weekend’s Formula 1 Dutch GP.

Red Bull had to deal with an ‘earthquake’ in the week of the 2026 season restart. On Wednesday (19), it announced the competitor’s absence after injuring his wrist during summer break training. As a result, Liam Lawson was promoted to the main team and Yuki Tsunoda was assigned to race for Racing Bulls.
Despite the setback for Hadjar, who achieved his first F1 podium in 2025 at Zandvoort, the Red Bull boss reassured fans. “Isack is fine. He suffered a minor injury during the summer break while training. In fact, he will arrive at the circuit [this Friday],” he told the F1 website.

In fact, Mekies sees no reason to rush Isack’s return before he is ready. “We have no reason to take risks. He had a fantastic start to the season; he has been getting stronger every time he leaves the pits with the car, session after session, weekend after weekend.”
“We are not taking any risks; we are letting him take care of his recovery this weekend and hope to have him back in the car very, very soon,” he concluded.
