Sergio Perez was impressed with Cadillac’s new facility in Silverstone, stating that he had never seen a factory like it in his Formula 1 career. The Mexican visited the facility alongside teammate Valtteri Bottas last week.

The two drivers participated in technical meetings with engineers and other team members involved in the car project. According to Perez, the visit allowed them to get a close look at a structure built from scratch and how the different departments were integrated.
“We were at the factory, and it is very impressive. I have never seen a factory like this in my career. It is really, really impressive,” Perez told the press. The Mexican driver also highlighted that it was important to talk with the engineers and the people involved in the project.
When explaining what caught his attention the most, Perez emphasized the completely new nature of the facility: “First, it’s because everything is new, the equipment they have, the platforms, how everything is well connected, all the different departments. It’s like a new house, very well organized. It was very good to see that,” he added.

These impressions from Perez and Bottas were also mentioned by Marcin Budkowski. The team principal said that the two were ‘very impressed’ after the meetings and used the new factory to counter rumors of an imminent move of operations to the United States.
“We have just opened a new factory in Silverstone. Anyone who doubts that this is a temporary facility should come visit it, because it is quite impressive,” Budkowski said. He added that Cadillac will continue developing its presence in the United States but described rumors that the team will soon leave its British base as ‘completely unfounded’.
