Formula 1 arrives at the 2026 Miami GP with a true development race among the teams. The car presentation document released by the FIA shows significant packages across almost the entire grid, with McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, and Cadillac among the teams that made the most changes to their cars.

The volume of updates reinforces the importance of the American round after the calendar break. Of the 11 teams, only Aston Martin did not present any news for Miami, while the others sought gains in aerodynamic downforce, efficiency, cooling, and flow stability.
McLaren appears with a very comprehensive package on the MCL40, including changes to the front, sidepod, engine cover, floor, rear corner, and rear wing. The highlight is the new floor, described as a completely new geometry, developed to increase downforce and efficiency under different conditions.
Ferrari also brought an extensive package, with changes to the front wing, front suspension, floor, diffuser, rear suspension, beam wing, rear end, and rear wing. The Italian team focused much of the work on gaining aerodynamic downforce and flow control, especially on the floor and diffuser, two decisive areas for the performance of current cars.
Red Bull introduced changes in several areas of the RB22, including front wing, sidepod, engine cover, floor, rear corner, and rear wing. The package seeks more downforce, better flow stability, and efficiency, with adjustments also related to the operation of the rear wing straight-line mode.

Audi, Gabriel Bortoleto’s team, brought more targeted but important updates: new brake duct cover and front suspension, as well as changes to the floor, floor edge, and diffuser to increase efficient aerodynamic downforce at the rear. It is a package directly linked to the attempt to improve the car’s base in Miami.
Among the others, Williams presented a broad update on the floor, sidepod, engine cover, mirrors, and rear section. Racing Bulls worked on the rear corner, suspension, floor, and rear wing. Alpine brought a new complete rear wing, as well as changes to the front and rear. Cadillac appeared with one of the most numerous packages, with nine items, while Mercedes and Haas were more discreet, with two and one update, respectively.
Miami has become a technical turning point for much of the grid. With little practice time in the Sprint format, the ability to quickly understand the updates can be as important as the number of new parts brought to the track.
