In 2025, the seven-time champion had a campaign well below expectations with a less competitive Ferrari car. For the first time in his career, he even finished a year without stepping on the podium once and ended up sixth in the Drivers’ World Championship.
But in 2026, the scenario seems to have changed, already finishing third in China and appearing fourth in the standings. Therefore, for Mansell, another Formula 1 title for Hamilton would be incredible.

“I’ll be romantic. I’d like Lewis to do it. Lando [Norris] has so many years ahead; he can do it again,” he told Sky Sports F1.
“But come on, Lewis. It’s special. You’ve already done so much, man. Let’s finish with a bang,” he added.
