Young Arvid Lindblad highlighted the good relationship with Liam Lawson as one of the factors behind Racing Bulls’ positive streak in the 2026 Formula 1 season. The Brit also emphasized that the rivalry between the two on the track has helped to raise the team’s performance.

Lindblad’s consistency and the points scored by Lawson helped Racing Bulls surpass Alpine in the constructors’ championship before the August break. The nineteen-year-old rookie scored four points at the season opener in Australia, then started a streak of six consecutive GPs finishing in the top ten.
Lindblad explained that living with Lawson combines competition during races and a friendly relationship outside the car: “Honestly, I would say we have a good relationship. I think together we have done a very good job to have a good overall dynamic, really managing to switch between on-track and off-track,” he said.
According to the driver, the two maintain a direct rivalry when competing, but put that rivalry aside when not in the car: “On the track, we both want to beat each other, and that’s the nature of the sport, but when we’re off the car, we have a genuine and pleasant relationship, and there is a good dynamic within the team,” he said.

Lindblad believes this internal rivalry also impacts Racing Bulls’ results: “We push each other a lot, and I think that was good for both of us. It’s also good for the team, because the more we push each other, the more performance we get, and that is showing in the results,” he added.
The Brit also attributed part of the progress to the team’s work on car development, but reinforced the importance of the rivalry with Lawson: “The team has done an incredible job continuing to bring performance to the car, and that’s why we’ve been so competitive in recent races, but I also think that Liam and I pushing each other every weekend helped with that,” he concluded.
