Liam Lawson gave his first verdict on Racing Bulls’ latest update package, brought to the Formula 1 Belgian GP weekend.

The New Zealander saw teammate Arvid Lindblad use the new components at Spa-Francorchamps, while he himself will only have the developed VCARB03 at this stage in Hungary.


The Briton used a revised chassis, with the visibly different roll hoop being the most noticeable change, and this brought a significant step forward – Lindblad finished within the points zone in Belgium. Therefore, speaking after the race, Lawson showed optimism, even though he has not yet used the Racing Bulls update.

“Yeah, I mean, obviously he’s been very fast this weekend, so that’s very positive. Everything we’ve brought, everything the team has been developing, has been working. So, yes, I’m very excited for [the Hungarian Grand Prix],” he said.
