Max Verstappen was once again at the center of controversy at the Miami Formula 1 GP. The four-time world champion complained via radio about a battle with Alexander Albon, but received criticism from former driver and 1996 F1 champion Damon Hill.

The incident occurred after Verstappen dropped to the midfield pack still on the first lap, after spinning alone at turn 2 while battling for position with Charles Leclerc. In an attempt to recover, he got involved in several battles, including the duel with Albon.
During the fight, the Dutchman appeared irritated and accused his rival of forcing him off the track at the pit entry: “He squeezed me against the pit entry limiter. That’s not allowed,” he said over the team radio.

The reaction did not convince Hill, who recalled Verstappen’s aggressive history in similar battles: “Hearing Verstappen complain about Albon retaking the position and squeezing him, I have to say he can’t complain about that kind of thing. He does that frequently to others,” the former driver told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Hill also commented on another moment from the weekend, when Verstappen battled with Lewis Hamilton. On that occasion, both went off track limits, and the Red Bull Racing driver had to give the position back: “It was a good overtaking attempt. He dived inside, it looked like the others were slower, and he went for the space. In his style, he braked very late and used the whole track,” he added.
