Lewis Hamilton spoke about the rain forecast for the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula 1 this Sunday (24) and about the use of Pirelli’s wet track tires, which ‘are not spectacular’.

The race in Montreal is expected to take place under precipitation, with competitors driving the new cars for the first time in these conditions.
The seven-time Ferrari champion was one of the only drivers who has already had a wet track test with Pirelli tires – he participated in an activity in Fiorano in April. Therefore, he has already stated that the extreme rain compounds ‘do not work’.

“The rain tires are not spectacular in terms of how they evolved for lower temperatures, without the insulating layer. [Pirelli] had to build a tire that worked with this insulating layer and made the situation worse, so we are constantly struggling against tires that do not work,” he said.
“In my test, I forced them to the ideal temperature for the insulating layer, they held up, I pushed them to add the insulating layer to the extreme rain tires, which they did, but it is still not enough,” he added.
