Lewis Hamilton positively evaluated his performance at the Formula 1 Australian GP, finishing the first race of the 2026 season in fourth place and highlighting the learning gained throughout the weekend.

“I was pleased with the performance in our first race of the season. There was a lot of learning during the weekend and we extracted everything that was available today, taking advantage of absolutely all the performance possible,” Hamilton stated.
The Briton detailed his focus during the race: “From the first laps I felt totally focused and, throughout the race, I understood the car more and more and adjusted my commands to get the most out of it,” he added.

Despite the good performance, Hamilton recognized that there is still work to be done: “There is still a lot to learn and develop, but it is clear that we are in the fight. We will stay focused, precise and continue pushing to evolve even further,” concluded the seven-time Formula 1 champion.
