Lewis Hamilton became the target of an investigation after qualifying for the Canadian GP in Montreal this Saturday (23). The Briton was summoned by the FIA (International Automobile Federation) stewards following an alleged incident involving Pierre Gasly at turn 8 of the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.

According to the federation, car 44 may have violated Article B4.1.1 of the Formula 1 Sporting Regulations by possibly impeding car 10 during the session, at 16:04 local time. Because of this, Hamilton will have to appear before the stewards alongside a Ferrari representative to provide clarifications.
The hearing is scheduled for 23:20 London time (19:20 Brasília time). Depending on the FIA’s decision, the fifth place achieved by the driver on the grid may be subject to change.

This is the second investigation of the day for the seven-time world champion. Earlier, after the sprint race, he faced suspicion of cutting the track to gain an advantage. The driver was cleared of the accusation.
