Lewis Hamilton may remain at Ferrari until the end of the 2028 Formula 1 season. According to information obtained by GPblog, the Briton’s contract guarantees his stay until 2027 and includes the possibility of extension for one more year.

Ferrari has never publicly detailed the exact duration of the agreement, describing it only as multi-year. According to the publication, a possible stay in 2028 would depend on Hamilton’s motivation to continue and also on the team’s level of competitiveness, potentially leaving the final decision in the hands of the seven-time world champion.
The information comes at a time of greater definition among the main names on the grid. Max Verstappen has already renewed with Red Bull until 2030, while Lando Norris also has a commitment with McLaren at least until that year. Charles Leclerc, in turn, has already agreed on a new multi-year contract with Ferrari, understood to be valid beyond 2028.
Hamilton arrived in Maranello with the goal of winning his eighth world title and expanding his legacy by also winning for Ferrari. His start with the team presented difficulties, but the partnership continues to have great sporting and commercial weight. Fred Vasseur also previously highlighted the Briton’s experience as an important element for the team’s development.
