Isack Hadjar is hoping that Red Bull’s ‘Macarena’ wing returns to the RB22 this Formula 1 Hungarian GP weekend, aiming for more performance.

The Austrian team’s device was at the center of a controversy after causing accidents with Max Verstappen in both Austria and England. As a result, in Spa-Francorchamps, the team returned to the traditional rear wing.
But the Frenchman hopes the Macarena marks a return at Hungaroring. “On paper, [Hungaroring] should be better than Spa; that’s what we believe. Also, we are trying to bring the other wing back. If we can make it work, we will unlock more performance. So, yeah, why not? I’m confident,” he said.
“Honestly, I’m still not sure. I really hope so. I think they can. I think there are some checks we need to confirm, but I really hope so. Even if it arrives a little late, I think it means more performance,” he added.

After the race in Belgium, where he finished third, Verstappen was also asked about the wing situation. “You mean the old rear wing. It performed well. I managed to keep the car on track, which I think is the most important thing. We were just a bit more competitive, and the balance was a bit better. But we suffered more with the hard tires; it’s as simple as that.”
“Honestly, of course it’s good to have fewer straights in Hungary, but I don’t know if that’s good or bad because, ultimately, there are many corners and you need good car performance in them, which makes it impossible to know what our level of competitiveness will be.”
