Formula 1 had a challenging Saturday for Haas at the 2026 Miami GP. Even with progress throughout the day, the team was unable to get their cars into the top 10.

The result reflects a difficult weekend amid a competitive grid and rivals bringing updates. Still, there are signs of progress and expectations for opportunities in the race.
In the Sprint, Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman faced pace difficulties and initially finished outside the points zone. After Gabriel Bortoleto’s disqualification, the duo was promoted to P11 and P12, with Ocon ahead of his teammate.
In the afternoon session, both returned to the track for the GP qualifying and advanced to Q2 with some ease. Bearman secured 13th place with a lap time of 1:29.567, while Ocon was 15th, recording 1:29.772, both unable to advance to Q3.

Bearman highlighted the limitations faced throughout the day. “We were really struggling at the rear, especially at high speed. It was a fight to keep the car on the track,” he said. He also pointed out that the lack of updates put the team at a disadvantage compared to competitors.
Ocon, for his part, valued the car’s progress despite a mistake on the final lap. “We improved a lot compared to the morning and yesterday. We made a good step forward, but it wasn’t enough to reach Q3,” he explained. The Frenchman also noted that a slight touch on the wall compromised his performance.
The team principal, Ayao Komatsu, acknowledged the limitations of the package but saw progress. According to him, the team identified important weaknesses and managed to improve the car, although there is still a lack of performance to fight further ahead, especially without updates.
