Pierre Gasly was summoned by the FIA stewards after an unsafe release made by Alpine, in front of the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto from Audi, during Q1 of the Dutch Grand Prix of Formula 1. The Alpine driver finished qualifying in 11th, while the Brazilian put the Audi in ninth position.

The incident happened during the first part of the session, in which Gasly managed to advance to Q2, but ended up outside the top ten. Bortoleto, in turn, had another good performance in Zandvoort and finished the session ahead of Arvid Lindblad from Racing Bulls.
The summons comes on a weekend in which Audi has been showing competitive performance. Bortoleto managed to bring the team’s car to ninth place on the grid, while Gasly had access to a significant update package prepared by Alpine for the Dutch round.

The Enstone team brought eight updates for the race in Zandvoort, including three changes related to the floor performance. The package also includes changes to the diffuser, the side of the car, the rear area, the rear impact structure, and the rear wing.
Gasly is the only Alpine driver to use the full set of updates this weekend. Franco Colapinto will receive the package at the next round, in Monza, after finishing Q1 in 14th place. So far, no decision has been announced by the stewards regarding the incident between Gasly and Bortoleto.
