Leonardo Fornaroli had another opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car. Last Tuesday (7), the driver drove a McLaren car for the second time in a test at Silverstone that is part of his development program.

The 21-year-old Italian drove the MCL60, the 2023 season car. In total, he completed 68 laps and covered 393 kilometers at the British circuit. The schedule focused on race simulations with fuel variation, switching between hard and soft tires.
“Another good day on track; it was incredible to be back in the MCL60. Silverstone is one of my favorite circuits, so I am grateful to McLaren for the opportunity to drive an F1 car there again,” said the competitor.
Fornaroli holds the role of McLaren reserve driver in Formula 1 in 2026 and the test marked a step forward after his debut in Barcelona in March, where he completed 110 laps over two days.

“As it was my second test, the run plan was more advanced, so I was able to experience different setups and fuel levels, which continues to improve my understanding of how to drive a Formula 1 car,” he explained.
“I am very happy with today’s result and have continued to evolve since my test a few weeks ago, becoming even more comfortable with these cars.”
