Ferrari ended Friday at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps with a cautiously optimistic tone for the rest of the weekend. Despite Lewis Hamilton’s fourth place in FP2, the team believes there is still time to gain before the qualifying session.

The day was marked by extensive data collection and setup evaluations on both cars. Both Hamilton and Charles Leclerc highlighted that the work done in the two sessions will be crucial to define the next steps for the Italian team.
Hamilton was Ferrari’s best representative in FP2, finishing in fourth place. The seven-time world champion stated that the team managed to complete an important schedule of activities and has already identified specific points that need to be improved.
“We managed to complete a good amount of work today and gathered a lot of useful information throughout the two sessions,” said the Brit. According to him, the car’s behavior was positive most of the time, but there are still aspects that can be refined.
“The car’s balance is good overall, but there are some areas where we know we can improve, particularly in the middle sector,” Hamilton added. The seven-time champion also highlighted that the team will analyze the data overnight looking for small gains that could make a difference in the qualifying session on Saturday.

Charles Leclerc, in turn, finished FP2 only in 11th position. The Monegasque acknowledged that Ferrari still needs to find more performance to get closer to the main rivals in Spa.
“We did a lot of work throughout the day, and there is still room to improve our competitiveness,” said Leclerc. The driver highlighted that the team will continue working on fine-tuning the car before Saturday’s activities.
For Ferrari, the priority now is to turn the information collected this Friday into performance on track: “We will adjust our setup for tomorrow and work to find more lap time for the qualifying session,” Leclerc concluded, summarizing the team’s goal for the rest of the weekend at the Belgian GP.
