The seven-time champion has been without a permanent engineer since the departure of Riccardo Adami at the beginning of 2026. The official was assigned to a new role within the Italian team.

This forced the team to look for a replacement, with Cedric Michel-Grosjean, a former McLaren track engineer, as the chosen one. Currently with Ferrari, he has not yet been officially placed in the role.

Since Adami’s departure, Hamilton has already worked with Bryan Bozzi, Charles Leclerc’s race engineer, during the shakedown in Barcelona. For the Bahrain pre-season onwards, he began collaborations with Carlo Santi, former engineer for Kimi Räikkönen.

Although Michel-Grosjean has been involved since the start of Formula 1 in Australia, there are apparently no moves for a change yet.

Information from PlanetF1 indicates that Santi will continue in the role for some time and will be present on the pit wall for Lewis when F1 returns to Miami, between May 1st and 3rd.
