The sequel to ‘F1: The Movie’ is already being considered, according to Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. Despite the information, the executive said the project is still in its early stages and will only move forward when the ideal conditions are met.

Speaking to the press, Domenicali explained that there is interest in continuing the film, but emphasized that the production will depend on a suitable story and the right moment to proceed. According to him, there are no concrete updates to announce yet.
The first feature brought together a heavyweight team, with Joseph Kosinski directing, Jerry Bruckheimer producing, and Brad Pitt in the lead role. In addition to acting as a producer, Lewis Hamilton participated in the project’s development to help ensure greater authenticity in the scenes involving Formula 1.

This film exceeded expectations at the box office worldwide, grossed over US$ 630 million, set new records, and became the biggest commercial success of Brad Pitt’s career. The performance reinforced interest in continuing the franchise, although Formula 1 still approaches the sequel with caution.
Commenting on the progress of the project, Domenicali emphasized that development has already begun but avoided setting any release date: “Work is underway. But, as always happens with a sequel, it is necessary to ensure that the right moment and the right story exist. The intention to do this exists. I will keep you informed when there is any concrete information related to this,” concluded the category’s CEO.
