Kimi Antonelli achieved his first Formula 1 victory by winning the Chinese GP in Shanghai. The Mercedes driver led the race and confirmed the team’s one-two finish with George Russell in second, while Lewis Hamilton secured third place for Ferrari. The result also ended a long drought of victories for Italian drivers in the category.

Gabriel Bortoleto did not start the race after facing a technical problem in the pit lane before the formation lap. The Brazilian was forced to retire from the Chinese GP even before the start of the race, although Audi had shown good performance in the previous sessions of the weekend.
