In an extremely balanced qualifying session held this Saturday (25), the McLaren driver clocked 1min17s207 and beat Lewis Hamilton by just 0s012. Charles Leclerc secured third place, followed by Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri, while Max Verstappen finished sixth. George Russell, Isack Hadjar, Arvid Lindblad, and Nico Hülkenberg completed the top 10. Gabriel Bortoleto advanced to Q2 but was eliminated in the second phase of qualifying and will start from 14th position.

After the end of qualifying, the stewards applied penalties to Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli. The Ferrari driver lost three positions for impeding Oscar Piastri’s fast lap, while the championship leader was also penalized with the loss of three positions for not sufficiently reducing speed under yellow flags during Q3.

As a result, the starting grid now has Norris and Leclerc on the front row, followed by Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton on the second. Max Verstappen moved up to fifth place, while Antonelli dropped to sixth position. George Russell, Isack Hadjar, Arvid Lindblad, and Nico Hülkenberg complete the top ten.
