George Russell won the Chinese GP Sprint race in Shanghai, confirming Mercedes’ strong start to the 2026 Formula 1 season. The Briton controlled the 19 laps of the race and crossed the finish line first, followed by Charles Leclerc in second and Lewis Hamilton in third, who overtook Lando Norris in the final laps.

Gabriel Bortoleto finished the Sprint in 13th position with Audi after starting 14th. The Brazilian managed to gain positions in the opening laps and momentarily climbed to 12th, but ended up losing ground after strategies during the Safety Car period caused by Nico Hülkenberg’s retirement.
