After the first three races of the year, the FIA held meetings in April for some specific changes to the rule set. Among them are reduced recharge in qualifying, increased superclipping power aimed at reducing duration, a boost limit of +150 kW, as well as aids for slower race starts.
So, for the Cadillac driver, the adjustments make sense, especially those involving the approach speed between two cars, considering the serious accident in Japan involving Oliver Bearman.

“I mean, you could make a bigger change, but at the same time, I think the tricky part is that I understand you don’t want to penalize any team that has done well,” he said.
“You don’t want to make changes that alter the order of the teams or something like that. In the middle of the season, making very big changes is quite complicated, so I think it’s a good first step,” he added.
