Gabriel Bortoleto spoke about Audi’s difficulties at the start in Formula 1 in 2026 and gave a very direct answer, saying he does not see the problem being solved anytime soon.

In the Sprint race of the Canadian GP last Saturday, the 23rd, the Brazilian started from 12th place, but when the lights went out, he dropped to 17th. During the laps he needed to recover ground and managed to finish in the same position he completed.
When asked if he sees a solution soon, Gabriel was realistic and said he believes Audi will still suffer a bit more in F1 2026. “I am a realistic person. I don’t see (a solution for starts) in the short term,” he told SporTV.

“Of course we know what needs to be done to solve it, but it’s something that takes time. It also depends on the ADUO, depends on many situations that are out of our hands and those that are in our hands take time to bring upgrade packages. I think we will continue to suffer a bit more, but we have to live with it until it’s resolved,” he added.
