Gabriel Bortoleto gave a broad overview of both the Miami Grand Prix of Formula 1 and Audi’s situation at the start of the 2026 season. The driver stated that problems are still being faced, but once resolved, the team should be consistently scoring points.

Last Sunday’s race, the 3rd, was complicated for the German team. Nico Hülkenberg retired in the early laps and the Brazilian would need to make a recovery drive after starting from the back of the pack.
In the end, the #5 car’s main driver managed to gain positions and crossed the finish line in 12th. Evaluating the race after the checkered flag, he said how it is still difficult to face problems that sometimes are out of control, but sees Audi’s potential to fight for points consistently.

“Look at our first weekend, you can’t be worse than your first weekend of the year. It was the first time we put this car, this engine, completely new, on the track. We evolved from the first weekend, what happens is that we haven’t had a clean weekend so far, a weekend where we don’t break down, where something outside our control doesn’t happen,” he told SporTV.
“So, it’s about being patient until things get resolved and when they do, I believe we will be scoring points consistently, but you can’t start last and try to score points. So, of course, I tried to be positive before the race, you try, but it depends on many factors. Like a race today where there isn’t much that can happen, you only get to where your pace takes you,” he added.
