Audi plans to bring a significant update package to the Miami GP. The team aims to evolve the performance of the R26 and stay in contention for positions in the midfield.

This five-week break in the Formula 1 calendar offered teams extra time to work on the cars, while manufacturers await the FIA’s assessment of possible changes involving the ADUO. As a result, the focus shifted to introducing new features starting from the US round, considered a key moment for the season.
According to Mattia Binotto, the team’s director and interim team principal, Audi will not be the only one to present significant changes: “I think many teams will bring update packages to Miami. I believe it will be the same for us. The pace of development with these new regulations is still very high,” said the executive, highlighting that the new features should be more relevant than in previous years.

The Italian also drew attention to the fact that the updates are expected to debut in Sprint format rounds, starting with Miami and then Canada. Even so, the need to evolve quickly weighs considerably, as any delay can cost important championship points.
Binotto expressed confidence in the work done by his team so far, and believes that the new features can help Audi maintain its competitive position: “It’s a relative competition, I don’t know how big our advantage will be over others, but I’m satisfied with what we’ve done and developed. I’m confident that, with the updates we bring, we can at least continue fighting for the positions we hold today,” concluded the executive.
