Oliver Bearman briefly evaluated his future and the situation with Ferrari, acknowledging that Lewis Hamilton’s performance improvement means he may have to wait longer to join the Italian Formula 1 team.

In 2025, the seven-time champion suffered from an extreme lack of competitiveness, finishing for the first time in his career without a single win. However, in 2026, the scenario changed and in 11 rounds he has already managed to win in Barcelona and is in second place, 50 points behind Kimi Antonelli, the leader.
Therefore, for Bearman, things may have changed with this turnaround by the Briton. “Things have changed a lot in the last six months. As an F1 fan and also of Lewis, it’s very cool to see him with this performance; seeing him on the top step of the podium in Barcelona was a very special moment for British F1 in general,” he said.
“There were three Brits on the podium, with the best British driver — the best driver we’ve ever seen — in first place. That is something very special. Of course, in terms of my future, it’s not the ideal scenario, but I’m still young,” he continued.

“I’m only 21 years old. I’m not in a rush and, for me, staying at Haas in the near future is not a bad thing. I feel there is a lot to learn in this team. There is still much to achieve. I really want to return to those standout moments we experienced in Mexico and other rounds. I feel the team is on a good trajectory and I’m very happy to be part of this journey with them.”
“It’s a difficult and challenging moment now, something that shapes character, I would say, but I don’t want to be defined as part of a team that had an excellent first year with me, but then struggled a lot to repeat that performance. So, I hope we can improve performance a bit and get back to scoring good points,” he concluded.
