Kimi Antonelli did not hide his enthusiasm for the possibility of racing alongside Max Verstappen in an endurance race. The Mercedes Formula 1 driver believes the duo would make a good partnership.

“That would be super cool. I would love to do an endurance race with Max. It would be incredible,” Antonelli stated, highlighting the passion both share for GT cars. “It’s cool because we both have a passion for GTs. In my case, it comes from my father, with the GT team. Max is also really enjoying it,” the Italian said.
Verstappen will participate in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in May this year, competing in a Mercedes-AMG GT3, alongside Dani Juncadella, Jules Gounon and Lucas Auer. Antonelli, as a Mercedes F1 driver and son of Marco Antonelli, owner of AKM Motorsport and experienced in the world of sports car racing, sees a natural opportunity for a partnership with the four-time champion.

“It will be a very cool event, and I will certainly be following it. It’s something I would really like to do in the future, racing with him in an endurance race. We would be an incredible duo and it would be a very cool experience,” said the young Italian, who has already shown interest in testing at the iconic Nordschleife circuit with more than 20 km in length, which is part of the Nurburgring complex, a track he considers special.
Antonelli made it clear that he sees this project as a chance to add fun to his motorsport career, exploring new experiences outside of Formula 1.
