Kimi Antonelli ended up starring in an unusual moment during the press conference of the Italian Grand Prix of Formula 1, this Thursday (03). The Italian slipped a swear word while trying to explain the risks of high-speed accidents and immediately began to fear a possible FIA fine.

The Mercedes driver was talking about how competitors face fast corners and highlighted that, in these situations, there is no time to think much before simply moving forward. Antonelli also highlighted the evolution of safety in F1 and the work done by the FIA to make the cars safer.
While searching for words to continue his explanation, however, the Italian ended up using a swear word without realizing it. As soon as he realized what he had done, he apologized repeatedly and drew laughter from the journalists present in the room.

“But we are well aware of the risk that exists because… ‘oh, s***’. Sorry. My God. Sorry. Sorry. I swore, but my God. What did I just do?”, Antonelli reacted, before showing concern about the possible consequences.
The Italian then acknowledged that he could be punished for the episode: “Now I’m going to be worried about the fine that’s coming. But what was I saying?”, he said, amid embarrassment. Later, Antonelli resumed his reasoning and reinforced that the drivers know the risks involved and accept living with them because this is a part of the sport they chose.
