Cadillac announces cutting-edge simulator to accelerate F1 project

Cadillac took another step in preparing for its debut in Formula 1 by announcing the acquisition of a state-of-the-art simulator from Dynisma. The equipment will be installed at the team’s base in Indiana, United States, as part of the expansion of its technical structure.

The American manufacturer chose the British company, which has already worked with Ferrari and McLaren, to supply the DMG-360XY simulator. According to Cadillac, the investment is part of the development of the technology and infrastructure necessary to compete in the premier motorsport category.

The simulator will be used in different areas of the team’s program, including car development, driver preparation, and setup work. Equipped with advanced LED panel visualization technology, the system offers low latency and high processing capacity to reproduce with greater fidelity the conditions faced by the drivers.

Another highlight is the platform’s movement capability, which can move up to five meters on the X and Y axes, in addition to having unlimited lateral rotation. The aim is to accurately replicate the car’s behavior and the feedback felt by the driver during driving.

Cadillac’s technical director, Nick Chester, emphasized the importance of the choice. “Selecting the right simulator platform is a fundamental decision for any Formula 1 team. Dynisma’s technology offers us the level of fidelity, response, and correlation we were looking for as we continue to develop our technical capability,” he said. He added that the arrival of the DMG-360XY represents “an important step” in building the tools and systems that will support engineering work and the driver program in the coming years.

Dynisma founder Ash Warne celebrated the agreement and highlighted the relevance of simulation in current motorsport. According to him, the technology helps connect driver feedback to engineering development and ensures a strong correlation between virtual tools, wind tunnel, and track testing.
