Gabriel Bortoleto finished very satisfied with his result in the Formula 1 Australian GP. In Audi’s debut race, the Brazilian crossed the finish line in ninth place, staying within the points zone.

After starting from tenth position at Albert Park, the driver of car #5 always stayed within, or close to, the top-10. With two stops during virtual safety car periods, he managed to score and brought two points home.
“Finishing in the points zone in our first race as Audi and writing a chapter in the history of motorsport is something the whole team can be very proud of. It was a positive race to end a good weekend for us: the car and the power unit worked reliably throughout the day, which is a great reward for the huge effort made during the winter to get everything ready for the season,” he said.

“The race itself was quite busy and, at times, a bit chaotic with the new regulations, so there are still many things for us to study and understand better. But the pace was strong, the communication in the garage was excellent and the team executed the race very well,” he continued.
“Overall, it is probably more than we could have expected from the first weekend. This result gives us a good foundation to build on, but we know there are still many areas in which we can improve. We have many races ahead of us and our focus now is to continue learning, developing the car and returning even stronger in the next events,” he concluded.
