Securing the pole position for the Velocitta stage of NASCAR Brazil this Saturday (27) was seen by Galid Osman as a possible turning point in the 2026 season. After winning the Sprint Race that defined the top grid position this Saturday, the Cavaleiro Sports driver highlighted the importance of the result and stated that the performance could put the team back in the championship fight.
After a good performance on Friday, Osman started Saturday in 20th place in the second free practice, but showed improvement in qualifying. Galid advanced to Q2 in fifth position in his group and, in the decisive phase of the time trial, recorded 1min38s788 to secure the best time.
With that, he started from first position in the Sprint Race, lost the lead right at the start, but regained the lead still in the initial corners by making the “X” move over his opponent. From there, he maintained first place throughout the five laps of the race and confirmed his first pole position in the category in 2026.

After qualifying, Osman celebrated the result and showed confidence in the continuation of the championship: “I’m very happy. We’ve been having a difficult year, so I believe this is a turning point for the rest of the championship, because there’s still time. If we do everything perfectly, we can still fight for the title. This is the second pole I’ve achieved in the category, in such a strong grid like this, so I hope to translate this result into a win tomorrow.”
The two races of the Velocitta stage will be held this Sunday, with the first in the morning and the second in the afternoon. The races will be broadcast on SBT, ESPN, Disney+, and the official NASCAR Brazil channel on YouTube.
