The qualifying for the sixth round of Formula 3, held on the morning of this Friday (17) at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, ended with 11 drivers penalized. The penalties were announced tonight, almost ten hours after the session that defined the starting positions for this weekend’s races ended.

Noah Stromsted, who caused the accident that ended the qualifying, was penalized five positions after hitting Yevan David’s car. The penalty applies to both races.
Theóphile Nael, Taito Kato, Louis Sharp, James Wharton, Jin Nakamura, and Nandhavud Bhirombhadi drove too slowly on the fast line of the track during the preparation lap for the fastest lap. Nael was penalized five positions, while the others will lose three positions in both races.
Championship leader Ugo Ugochukwu and Gerrard Xie were also slow on the fast line and gained an advantage by going off track without justifiable cause. Both were penalized three grid positions in both races.

Finally, Bruno del Pino and José Garfias lost three positions on the grids of both races for erratic driving during the tire warm-up lap before the fast lap.
The Sprint race will be held this Saturday, starting at 5 a.m., while the main race takes place at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
