Matteo de Palo won in the early hours of this Sunday (5) the main race of the fifth round of the 2026 Formula 3 season, held at the Silverstone circuit in England. The Trident driver fought a great battle for victory with Freddie Slater, his teammate, and had to hold off Theóphile Nael on the last lap, after a restart, to come out in first place after 21 laps.

Second place went to Ernesto Rivera, a Campos Racing driver who was among the leaders but benefited from a ten-second penalty against Nael, in an incident with Yevan David. Maciej Gladysz, from AR Grand Prix, was third, completing the podium. James Wharton, from Prema, and Slater, from Trident, rounded out the top 5.

Championship leader Ugo Ugochukwu crossed the finish line in sixth place with a Campos Racing car, ahead of Louis Sharp, seventh with Prema. Noah Stromsted, from Trident, was eighth, while Kanato Le, a driver from ART Grand Prix, finished ninth. Alessandro Giusti, from MP Motorsport, completed the top 10.
The Brazilians had different performances this early morning. Pedro Clerot had a combative race, especially in the final half, and finished 13th with a Rodin Motorsport car. Fernando Barrichello also had a race with many overtakes but suffered a touch from Bruno del Pino and spun on the final lap with the AIX Racing car, finishing 28th.

The race featured a Safety Car deployment. On lap 18, Ricardo Escotto stopped on the track after the AIX Racing car had problems. The neutralization was necessary to remove the car from the track.

The next Formula 3 round is scheduled between July 17 and 19, at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.
