Mercedes confirmed its evolution in Monaco as Kimi Antonelli converted the best time in FP3 into pole position for this Sunday’s Grand Prix. The Italian overtook Max Verstappen in the final moments of qualifying and secured the first position on the grid by a minimal difference of 43 thousandths. Hamilton will start third with Ferrari, while Leclerc finished fourth after a session marked by problems and a touch of the guard-rail. One of the highlights was Isack Hadjar, who placed Red Bull in fifth position. Meanwhile, Gabriel Bortoleto suffered an accident in Q1, damaged the Audi’s suspension, and was unable to effectively compete in Q2, finishing qualifying in 16th place.
