MotoGP: Acosta leads final Friday practice in Hungary. Moreira finishes in the top-10

Pedro Acosta was the fastest rider in the practice session that concluded Friday’s (5) activities for the Hungarian GP, the eighth round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the session held late this morning, the KTM rider recorded 1min36s827 on his best lap, taking the top spot on the day’s time sheet at the Balaton Park circuit.

Second position went to Fabio Di Giannantonio, VR46 rider, a Ducati satellite team, who finished 0s413 behind Acosta’s time. Raúl Fernández, with a Trackhouse Aprilia, took the third best time, finishing ahead of Fermín Aldeguer, fourth with a Gresini Ducati. The group of the top five also included Ai Ogura, from Trackhouse.

Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi closed the session with the sixth fastest time on the Aprilia, followed by Marc Márquez, seventh with the Ducati. The only Brazilian on the grid, Diogo Moreira, finished the practice in eighth with an LCR Honda, while Jorge Martín, from Ducati, was ninth. The top-10 was rounded out by Jack Miller, with a Pramac Yamaha.

Francesco Bagnaia drew attention for being outside the list of the ten fastest. The Ducati rider was only 14th and will have to go through Q1 in qualifying this Saturday. Among the substitute riders for the weekend, Iker Lecuona was 17th with the Gresini Ducati, while Cal Crutchlow finished 22nd with the LCR Honda. They replace Álex Márquez and Johann Zarco, respectively.

The MotoGP schedule at Balaton Park continues this Saturday (6), first with a free practice session at 5:10 AM, and then with qualifying, starting at 5:50 AM. The Sprint race takes place later, at 10:00 AM. The Hungarian GP will be held this Sunday, with the start at 9:00 AM.
